COVID Pandemic

LOCO is working very closely with our range of reputable tour operators to ensure your safety comes first. We understand you may be cautious and possibly uncertain about making a new booking. As the issues of the pandemic and the responses to those issues are so fluid, we are committed to regularly liaising with all our customers providing the most relevant information for all existing and future bookings.

Is my tour operated by LOCO Journeys?

LOCO is currently a tour agent and we will advise you who your tour operator is at the time of booking. We hope to be operating our own tours in the near future so watch this space – there are some exciting developments coming soon!


Do LOCO tours only travel by train?

No we don’t. We believe that a variety of transport options creates a more varied travel experience. The tours LOCO promotes use rail transport as the preferred means of travelling overland but itineraries can also include coach and sometimes boat trips.


Are meals included in my tour?

Meal inclusions vary from tour to tour and from operator to operator. Please refer to the stated inclusions in your chosen tour and give us a call if they are still not clear.


Why does the LOCO website only show From prices?

Departure dates, international sales conditions, the vagaries of exchange rates, availability restrictions, and a host of other factors all play a role in tour operator’s pricing. A comprehensive price will be offered at the time of quoting.


Do you offer any discounts or deals?

Yes. LOCO will always pass on any discounts or deals that are available from tour operators. To check out what is currently available, click here for some great deals.


What will my group be like?

Typical questions include: age of group, size of group and country of origin.
Each tour group is different and the exact ages or country of origin can be difficult to predict. The tour operator will be able to advise maximum group size and we only promote tours that use English as the primary language.


Do you sell tours other than those listed on your website?

Yes we do. If you haven’t quite found what you are looking for, we encourage you to make contact with us as the tours shown are only a popular sample of what we have available.


What are the important things I should know? 

Typical questions include: Is there any small print? When do I pay? Can I alter my booking? Can I cancel my booking?
For all of these questions, which Loco acknowledges are all very important, please refer to our Terms and Conditions page and read the information on that page first. We’re happy to answer any further questions that you may have.


How do I pay?

Our preferred method of payment is direct bank transfer. We also accept credit card payments but please note a credit card fee will apply. We will outline your payment options in detail when your booking is confirmed.


Am I required to pay a local payment and if so, why?

This will depend on the tour you have booked and we will make you aware if a local payment is due at the time of quoting. Certain tour operators – particular those operating in the budget/adventure tours category –  keep their upfront tour price lower by requesting an additional local payment be made when you join your tour. This payment will often cover local attractions and food inclusions which other tour operators include in their upfront cost.


Can you book my flights and pre/post tour accommodation for me?

Yes we can. LOCO can provide you a quote on all your holiday requirements including flights, excursions, pre & post tour options, travel insurance and more.


What Visas do I need?

LOCO will provide any useful information we can with regards to visa requirements. We strongly recommend you visit visasandpassports.co.nz to double check.


Do I require any vaccinations?

There are a range of vaccinations required when travelling to certain destinations. Your local travel clinic or medical practice will be able to confirm and administer any necessary vaccines.


How much luggage can I take?

Be aware that your luggage allowance as stated by your airline may differ significantly from what your tour operator recommends you carry. We will outline your tour operator’s luggage allowance at the time of booking your tour.


Are airport transfers included?

We will provide a comprehensive outline of all your tour inclusions at the time of booking.


I am a single traveller. Will I be sharing a room?

This will depend on the operator of your tour and how they price their tours. A single supplement is often requested if you wish to guarantee a private room. We will advise at the time of your booking if a supplement is required.


When will I receive my travel documents?

We will send your travel documents to you as soon as full payment has been made and they become available to us from your tour operator.


What are your booking Terms and Conditions?
