Your Indian Pacific Rail, Land & Sea journey begins way up north in Broome, the gateway to the Kimberley. Savour the extremes of what makes this part of Australia so unique and experience the majesty of Horizontal Falls. You’ll soar in a seaplane, witness the horizontal waterfalls in a cruise boat and soak up the amazing surrounds in Talbot Bay. Then, you’ll venture south to the West Australian capital, Perth. Here you will visit the protected nature reserve of Rottnest Island, before joining your Indian Pacific rail journey as you make the epic transcontinental crossing of Australia.
Enjoy these unique off-train extra experiences which are included in your Perth to Sydney Indian Pacific journey.
Kalgoorlie – The gold rush, set off by Paddy Hannan’s discovery in 1893 was one of the biggest in Australian history. After dinner, visit Hannan’s North Tourist Mine where you will enjoy a short play highlighting the tales of The Golden Mile and the beginning of the thriving days of gold glory.
Rawlinna – Five hours drive from the nearest big town of Kalgoorlie, you’ll enjoy an outback encounter to remember including a visit to the ghost town of Cook. As you enjoy morning refreshments, witness a moving, dawn experience as the desert comes to life, and marvel at the raw beauty of the Nullarbor.
Adelaide – With its vibrant culture built on world famous festivals, food and wine, cosmopolitan Adelaide is an elegant city with a rich past and a passion for fine living. Enjoy a city sights tour and a visit to the central markets.
Blue Mountains – The Blue Mountains is a World Heritage-listed area that is bound to delight your senses with its rugged cliffs, forests and formations. Join the Scenic Cableway and glide over the forest as you descend more than 500 metres to the valley floor before boarding the Scenic Railway, the steepest passenger railway in the world.
