That said, the TranzAlpine’s panoramic side windows and glass skylights mean that wherever you settle in, you’re in for an extraordinary alpine experience.  There really isn’t a bad seat on this train.

Q. Can you do the TranzAlpine train journey in one day?

Southern Alps blanketed in snow, those winter departures are genuinely magical, but they’re also highly sought after. Our strong advice: book your winter TranzAlpine package early. The train does not run on Christmas Day.
